Women are leading the charge!
For the first time, it would appear more women than men are having civil partnerships in the UK, or so it seems from recent figures released by the Office for National Statistics. In the report it states that some 49 per cent of the civil partnerships taking place last year were held for men, yet during 2009, men had 51 per cent.
According to the figures, Between 2005 and 2010 there have been 46,622 civil partnership ceremonies were carried out, over 6000 last year alone.
You’ll never guess the two most popular cities to have ceremonies in the UK? Or maybe you will, the city’s with the most are London and Brighton and the average age for men is 40 whilst women slip in at 38.
