Former Savage Garden front man Darren Hayes marks his long-awaited return as a solo artist with the release of a new single Talk, Talk, Talk, in July – his first offering for four years – it has been announced.
The new single, which focuses on two rowing lovers talking things through, will officially be released on 31 July; however, the official album version is currently available from online digital retailers.
Hayes, who has sold more than 25 million albums, said: “Sometimes relationships end because they’ve simply run their course. But sometimes they end out of a lack of bravery to say the things that have to be said. This song is about taking one last chance to be brave and say the things you dare not say. All I want to do is talk talk talk to you.”
The single, co-written by The Wanted producer Carl Falk and mixed by Robert Orton (Lady Gaga/Robbie Williams), is the first to be released from the Australian singer’s forthcoming album Secret Codes and Battleships, which has been pencilled in for an October release date.
Last year Hayes, who entered into a civil partnership with his partner Richard Cullen in 2006, publicly spoke out about his struggle of growing up gay at a Gay and Lesbian Humanist Association lunch in London.
