Merseyside Police Reaffirm Commitment.

The Merseyside Police have reaffirmed their commitment to tackling homophobia this week, following a spate of recent attacks in Liverpool city centre.

On Friday, Assistant Chief Constable, Pat Gallan,  joined by 40 senior ranked officers to raise the rainbow flag above police headquarters, marking the start of the region’s events for International Day Against Homophobia.

Merseyside Chief Constable, Jon Murphy was unable to attend the event, but said via a statement: “Let us now fly our rainbow flag to demonstrate a clear, visible stance that discrimination, homophobia and transphobia will not be accepted by Merseyside police.”
